Division 3 - Photography
Photography Division – Rules
1. This division is open to AMATEUR Photographers only (people who do not earn the majority of their income through photography). There is no limit on number of entries per exhibitor.
2. Prints having won awards in any other photographic print competition are ineligible.
3. Color photographs should be borderless and are to be exhibited without mats or frames. Photos must be 4” x
6” or 5” x 7” in size. They will be displayed in holders supplied by the Richmond Rose Society. The exhibitor's name and address should be on the back of each photograph.
4. An American Rose Society entry tag should be completed in the same manner as for any other exhibit. For public interest, name the variety of roses, if known.
5. The judging will be by both an American Rose Society
Judge and a Photographer (if available).
6. Each entry will be judged on the merits of that photograph's subject, composition and photographic excellence. Each class may have several blue ribbon winners, with a best of each class selected from the blue sticker winners.
7. All care will be given to safeguard photographs, but the Richmond Rose Society will not be responsible for the loss of or damage to photographs.
8. Photographs, ribbons and awards may be picked up
ONLY at the close of the show close of the show after
3:30 p.m. on Sunday.

•Photographic excellence 30 points
•Color fidelity 10 points
•Composition 30 points

Permanent Awards
Class 301 – One Bloom – Any variety, one-bloom-per-stem at exhibition stage. Limited to one photograph per variety per exhibitor.

Class 302 – One Fully Open Rose – Any variety, one-bloom- per-stem, fully open with stamens visible. Limited to one photograph per variety per exhibitor.
Trophy: Donated by the Jesse Hill
Class 303 – One Spray – Any variety, one spray of two or more blooms. Limited to one photograph per variety per exhibitor.
